It is a privilege to offer you my warmest welcome to our official English Web site, updating your knowledge about our preparation for the 10th ASOSAI Assembly and 3rd Symposium to be held in Shanghai, China during 11-15 September 2006. ASOSAI, the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, has been exerting its utmost efforts to promote a wider understanding within its 43 members and moreover, to disseminate the best auditing practices worldwide under the cooperation framework of INTOSAI and other regional groups and committees of SAIs. An open forum, such as this assembly and symposium is one of the most important events of ASOSAI, marking the unity of auditors in Asia and triggering the spreading of auditing knowledge and the attainment of fruitful cooperation. So every three years we have this unique occasion of getting together with the purpose of establishing a beneficial communication between SAIs of Asia. It represents a special opportunity for us to exchange knowledge and ideas, to share experiences and opinions, to be brought up-to-date on recent developments on auditing and to extend the hand of friendship to those in the world and Asia that have, as one of their highest priorities, further prosperity and development of Auditing. But nothing of this would be attainable without active participation of its members. As the host of this special event, it is my wish that the 2006 ASOSAI Assembly will combine the strength of all our members as well as our honorable observers from INTOSAI and SAIs outside Asia and will attract a number of paper contributions and precious opinions concerning our theme of assembly and symposium. Meanwhile it is also the hope of my staff and I that participants and all the guests shall have a comfortable and productive stay and carry home something memorable from China that will remind them of the days spent here. To this end, we create this website to serve mainly as a source of information. Moreover, I hope that it will also serve as a useful source for everybody when seeking additional information or exchanging experiences, keeping up-to-date with the preparations, and registering for the Assembly. In addition, you will also find a lot of useful hints and information you might need when visiting China. This website is also intended to display the Assembly and Symposium documents.
