CNAO released the statistics of audit work for the first half of 2010


The National Audit Office of People¡¯s Republic of China (CNAO) released the statistics of its audit work for the first half of 2010.
 
In the first half of 2010, audit institutions nationwide have conducted the audit and investigation over 48287 auditees. By means of audit, a total of revenue increase and expenditure reduction of 15.98 billions RMB Yuan has been achieved, among which 93.36 billions have been handed in to the state treasury, 2.2 billions of financial appropriation and allowance decreased, 4.42 billions returned to original channels. Besides, 14.22 billions of investments or final account of fixed asset investment have been reduced upon auditing, which helped the auditees retrieve and avoid the loss of 5.67 billions. Audit institutions have transferred 323 cases to judicial, discipline investigation and supervision authorities, 503 persons and 8.84 billion involved. 
 
Audit institutions have carried out the accountability audits over 10055 persons, with the results that 17 officials and other 66 related persons have been transferred to judicial, discipline investigation and supervision authorities.
 
In the first half of this year, audit institutions at various levels have issued 43925 audit reports and 3866 audit investigation reports altogether, released 1250 announcements of audit findings to public. They have also submitted a total of 56673 special reports, comprehensive reports and briefings, of which 31103 reports have were given comments and accepted by China¡¯s leaders and relevant departments. In addition, audit institutions have proposed 75579 pieces of auditing recommendations to the auditees and other institutions, of which 49768 pieces have been accepted. Those auditees have already taken 2983 rectifications in accordance with audit recommendations, and improved 1540 regulations as well.
